Naveed has held the position of Chief Administrative and Scientific Officer for Canada’s Genomics Enterprise in 2017. His previous roles include Director of Technology Programs at Genome Canada, serving as the Head of Genomics at University of York, UK, and as a Research Fellow at the S.R. Noble Foundation in Oklahoma, USA.
Allison is an experienced life science and drug development business professional with 10+ years in business development and strategy, data and financial analytics, and project management. As the Senior Director, Corporate Development and Intellectual Property at Sierra Oncology in Vancouver, she has a passion for driving the advancement of promising scientific research and great technology towards development and commercialization to make a difference for patients and doctors.
Alexander is CEO and Co-Founder of Symvivo, an early-stage pharmaceutical company that researches, tests and patents cancer-fighting drug-delivering systems that can be licensed to large drug manufacturers. He has a biochemistry degree at Western University in London, he moved west to pursue cancer research at the University of Manitoba and then on to Vancouver, where Symvivo was launched.
Andrew has been with STEMCELL Technologies for almost 20 years, he started as Technical Sales Representative when the company employed 50 people, and is now the Senior Vice President, Operations in a company of over 1000. Born in Manitoba, Andrew earned a Master’s degree in Science from the University of British Columbia, specializing in nutritional biology and cancer research.
Based in Edmonton, Carolyn is an executive with business development, operations, and product development experience, with a specialty in technology commercialization in health tech and medical devices. Carolyn has worked with dozens of companies to prepare for and launch innovative products into a demanding regulated marketplace. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Kinesiology and an MBA from the University of Calgary.
Chris is the Vice President of Glocal Commercial Operation at Emergent BioSolutions. Previously, he was involved in academic research at the Universities of Manitoba and Washington, and at the National Research Council of Canada. His experience covers biopharmaceutical development through to market launch and significant regulatory experience with Health Canada, the FDA and the European Medicines Agency. Chris holds a PhD in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics from the University of Manitoba, an MBA specializing in Pharmaceutical Management from the University of Colorado, and he completed executive development programs at Harvard Business School.
Kimberly is the Chief Financial Officer at Appili, with nearly 20 years of financial management experience at public and private companies. Previously, Kimberly served as CFO of IMV Inc. (formerly Immunovaccine), where she raised more than $40 million in equity financing and government grants. She was instrumental in IMV’s graduation from the TSX Venture Exchange to the TSX and listing on the OTCQX in the USA. She is a Charted Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting from Mount Allison University, and has undertaken Executive Education at The Wharton School.
