adMare BioInnovations invites early-career science professionals to apply to the BioInnovation Scientist (BIS) Program: Foundations Cohort II

Vancouver (BC), Montreal (QC), and Toronto (ON) (August 24, 2023) - The adMare Academy is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the second cohort of the BioInnovation Scientist (BIS) Program: Foundations. This online, cohort-based program provides fundamental knowledge in therapeutics development while simultaneously building the professional skills necessary to succeed in the Canadian life sciences industry.

“We are delighted to build on the success of the inaugural cohort of this program, where the participation and enthusiasm from the cohort and the demonstrated application of learning among participants was such a joy to be part of,” stated Dr. Ann Meyer, Director, BIS Program. “Feedback from participants reflected a valuable experience that will positively impact their transition to and success in commercially-focused life sciences roles and organizations.”

The 8-week online program is structured into four courses that introduce therapeutics discovery, development, and commercialization. The program covers important topics such as intellectual property, the high-risk/high-reward nature of the industry, and the importance of incorporating inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility principles into therapeutics development. Participants work through practical activities that incorporate real-world examples, join live online discussion sessions with industry experts, and have the opportunity to build their peer networks across the country.

The BIS Program: Foundations is open to individuals possessing at least a BSc. or equivalent degree, who are either newly employed in industry or working/training in academia, with a view to transition into commercial organizations.  Applicants must reside in Canada and apply before the September 27th deadline using this link.
