Julia is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Screening division at adMare.
Her Bachelor’s Degree was in Biochemistry at the University of Bath, UK, during which she undertook a one year co-op at the Barrow Neuorological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, researching nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. She then joined University College London (UCL), UK, as a doctoral candidate in the laboratories of Professor Michael Duchen and Professor Gyorgy Szabadkai, where she studied the mitochondrial calcium transport system as a potential therapeutic target in neurodegenerative diseases.
Julia then joined the Alzheimer’s Research UK UCL Drug Discovery Institute as a postdoctoral researcher, where she worked on developing assays for drug discovery projects on topics including axonal trafficking and GPCRs.
While at adMare, Julia hopes to increase her knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the drug discovery process, and contribute to adMare’s success.
