  • Gain an accurate picture of personal preferences, strengths, and development needs to improve leadership effectiveness.

How You Learn

Cohort IX will run from August 2026 to February 2027. The program combines 3 multi-day in-person workshops across Canada, each with built-in networking events, 4 one-hour virtual meetings, 5 hours executive coaching, multiple short online learning modules, and concludes with capstone presentations and a graduation celebration.

This program utilizes renowned curriculum, expert facilitation, and certified executive coaches provided by the Center for Creative Leadership.

Assessments and Simulations

Personal and team-focused assessments, as well as immersive simulations draw attention to personal preferences, strengths, and development needs or areas for organizational improvement.

Key Leadership Challenge

By engaging in development focused on a specific challenge in your role at work, this program tailors learning to individual needs and enables participants to maximize their personal leadership power to accelerate their organization’s goals and results.

Executive Coaching

Coaches help guide participants in their 360 assessment, goal-setting, integrating learnings into their own experiences, and in planning ongoing steps to support their development and advance their key leadership challenge. Coaches can expand perspective, inspire, and provide challenge and support like no one else.

Accountability Group

Peer groups will be formed to provide participants a vehicle to gain broader perspectives on issues they are experiencing, to add depth to feedback and key ideas, and to learn from fellow leaders with comparable real-world experiences and familiar challenges.

Curated Networking

Participants benefit from curated networking with industry leaders and Executive Institute alumni and select opportunities to attend key national life sciences events through adMare’s ecosystem partnerships – designed to build new connections, deepen relationships, and strengthen networks across the Canadian life sciences ecosystem. 

Who Should Take Part in the Executive Institute?

 

Senior executives working in life sciences companies across Canada. 

Participants are typically mid-career leaders (i.e., minimum 10 years’ experience), have joined the program from start-up companies through to multinational corporations, as well as not-for-profit enterprises and other players in the life sciences ecosystem, and are responsible for a wide variety of organizational functions. Some are proactively seeking to refresh and update their leadership skills, while others may have had little formal leadership training. Participants commonly include individuals in C-Suite, VP, General Manager, Senior Director, Director roles.

Open to approximately 20 participants annually.

The adMare Executive Institute seeks to better support equity, diversity, and inclusion in the Canadian life sciences sector, creating opportunities for equity-deserving groups and is committed to addressing issues of gender disparity in leadership positions (55% of participants across the previous seven cohorts are women).

Cost of the program

$6,000 Program Fee* + taxes as well as travel and accommodations for in-person workshops

Note: Participants must attend all in-person sessions. The program travel costs per participant will vary depending on details specific to their situation but are estimated to range from $5,000-$8,000. 

The program fee supports adMare’s ability to offer this program and helps cover some of the costs associated with the curriculum.

*An important part of our mission is to contribute to building a sustainable life sciences ecosystem that offers full inclusion and participation. We have limited funds available for participants who require financial assistance, where we will treat the program fee as a refundable deposit in instances where it prohibits the participation of specific segments of the ecosystem.

*adMare is partnering with national and provincial life sciences organizations to provide participants with complimentary registration to attend key industry events that coincide with workshop locations and dates. These events are optional, but participants may wish to extend their travel to attend and expand their networking opportunities. Full details on participating events and dates will be shared once confirmed.  

Cohort IX Application Process:

 

Applications for Cohort IX will be open from June 16 to July 24, 2026.

Timeline:

  • Selected participants are expected to be notified by July 31. Participant written confirmation of enrollment required by August 7, 2026. The Program fee is due upon acceptance.
  •  The program will kick-off with a 90 minute virtual session August 18, 2026.

Other Important Details: 

  • We ask leaders in the ecosystem to nominate candidates for this program (brief email note in support of an applicant to sgallagher@admarebio.com). While not required for admittance into the program, it does help the review panel select appropriate candidates.
  • Only 1 participant per company will be accepted into a given cohort, to foster a wide range of connections across the entire Canadian life sciences ecosystem. 
  • Selection into the program is not solely merit-based, as we seek to create diverse cohorts that include variation in participant demographics, organizations of different types and maturity levels, as well as geographic considerations.
